Paying the real Living Wage is not only the right thing to do, it also helps us attract and motivate the best talent to provide services to customers at our places. In 2025, everyone employed on our behalf working regularly at our places was paid real Living Wages, achieving our commitment as an accredited Living Wage Employer.

JOURNEY TO LIVING WAGE EMPLOYER ACCREDITATION

Our decade-strong history of supporting the real Living Wage started with a commitment to paying our own employees at least the real Living Wage back in 2016. Since then, we have extended the breadth of our commitment to cover everyone working regularly on our behalf at our campuses, retail assets and developments, including in our supply chain.

100% of our own employees have been paid at least the real Living Wage since 2016. We have also encouraged our suppliers to pay their employees at least the real Living Wage, working with them to measure and report performance at our places. We made paying real Living Wages a requirement for suppliers on our London campuses in 2017, and for contractors and sub-contractors on our developments in 2020.

In 2023, we went a step further and committed to paying real Living Wages to everyone working at our places on our behalf, including our retail assets, and gained Living Wage Employer status for our entire managed portfolio. This change was driven by recognition of the impact of the cost-of-living crisis and analysis demonstrating that the significant majority of people working at our places were already earning the real Living Wage or above.

In 2025, 100% of people working regularly on our behalf at our places were paid at least the real Living Wage. This includes our hard and soft service suppliers’ employees at our retail assets and campuses. To verify compliance, we commissioned charity Unseen to independently audit 10 of our key suppliers. No non-compliances were identified. We will continue to include Living Wage checks in our audits, as part of our real Living Wage commitment.

Our Broadgate, Paddington Central and Regent’s Place campuses are also accredited Good Work Standard employers – the Mayor of London’s benchmark for healthy, fair and inclusive workplaces.

Since implementing our commitment to the real Living Wage, we have seen improvements in the recruitment and retention of employees at our retail assets. Paying the real Living Wage is not only the right thing to do, it also helps us to recruit and retain the right people. This enables us to deliver best in class service at our assets. It has also saved us recruitment and other costs.
