Community investment

Investing in the future through education and young people, as well as training, employment and regeneration.

In 2009/10, we invested £717,000 in community initiatives through cash contributions, in-kind donations and time spent supporting good causes. We have been investing in communities near to our major properties since the early 1990s. Much of this support is provided as part of a long-term relationship that enables real progress to be made. We have been contributing to Capital Kids Cricket since 2003 and Create arts charity since 2004, as well as a wide range of local organisations.

We give all our Head Office staff up to two days each year for volunteering, arranging a series of community team challenge events. In 2009/10, 27% of our Head Office team participated in volunteering projects, up from 24% the year before. Members of our team have been providing reading support to local school children since 2005.

We have been members of the London Benchmarking Group for community investment since 2008.
