Enhanced Scrip Dividend

We are offering shareholders the opportunity to participate in our Enhanced Scrip Dividend Scheme ("Scrip Dividend Scheme").

This enables shareholders, if they wish, to receive New Ordinary Shares instead of cash dividends.

Scrip Calculation Price

In accordance with the terms and conditions of the Enhanced Scrip Dividend Scheme, the Scrip Calculation Price, in respect of the fourth interim dividend for 2008/9 of 6.5p, which was paid on 14 August 2009, was 365.8p. Shareholders that have elected to join the Scrip Dividend Scheme receive New Ordinary Shares valued at a 5% premium to the cash amount that would otherwise have been received as a cash dividend. 

For the first quarter dividend for 2009/10 of 6.5p (non-PID), which was paid on 13 November 2009, the Scrip Calculation Price was 478.5p. Shareholders that have elected to join the Scrip Dividend Scheme receive New Ordinary Shares valued at a 5% premium to the cash amount that would otherwise have been received as a cash dividend. 

For the second quarter dividend for 2009/10 of 6.5p (non-PID), payable on 12 February 2010, the Scrip Calculation Price will be 457.9p. Shareholders that have elected to join the Scrip Dividend Scheme receive New Ordinary Shares valued at a 5% premium to the cash amount that would otherwise have been received as a cash dividend.

For the third quarter dividend 2009/10 of 6.5p (non-PID), payable on 14 May 2010, the Scrip Calculation Price will be announced on 14 April 2010. If a Scrip mandate form has already been completed, and not withdrawn, no action needs to be taken to receive this dividend payment as shares. The deadline for submitting a mandate (or withdrawing an existing mandate) is 5pm on 22 April 2010. Shareholders that elect to join the Scrip Dividend Scheme will receive New Ordinary Shares valued at a 5% Premium to the cash amount that would otherwise be received as a cash dividend.
