Sustainability has been at the heart of our operational principles for a number of years. We aim to lead the market in developing and managing buildings in a sustainable manner.
Accounting for a major part of the built environment, the commercial property industry has a special position of influence and responsibility in advancing the cause of sustainability. As Europe’s largest property company by assets we take our corporate responsibilities seriously, financing, developing and managing property for the long-term. Carbon neutral
As part of our commitment to responsible business leadership, we will become carbon neutral by 2008/2009. This will help to future-proof our buildings, bringing benefits to our occupiers, the environment and our business. We will achieve this by continuing to manage and reduce direct emissions, further reducing the carbon content of our energy supply and by off-setting. Working with occupiers
We have been working with occupiers at Broadgate through the Broadgate Environmental Working Group to increase recycling, improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions since 2004.
