Location

Borehamwood is located approximately 14 miles to the north of Central London. The A1 is one mile to the east of the town centre and Junction 4 of the M1 is two miles to the south west.

The Borehamwood Shopping Park is the prime retail warehousing destination in the town and is located next to the High Street.

Description

Constructed in 1987, with recent additions in 2003 and 2005, the retail park comprises 19 retail warehouse units. In 2003, three new units were constructed for M&S Simply Food, WH Smith and Carphone Warehouse. In 2005, a new 6,500sq ft (604 sq m) unit was built for Halfords along with a 6,500 sq ft (604 sq m ) new medical centre serving the community on the site of the former petrol filling station at the Theobald Street entrance.

Accommodation

The retail park provides total retail accommodation of 213,537 sq ft. Unit sizes range from  573 sq ft (58 sq m) to  36,070 sq ft  (3,351 sq m). There are a total of 695 car parking spaces, a ratio of 1:307 sq ft.

Tenancies

Argos, Boots, Car Phone Warehouse, Halfords, JJB Sports, Lidl, Marks & Spencer, Next, Sports World, W H Smith, and Wickes. The Outift opened a new 1,888 sq m (20,000 sq ft) unit on the park in June 2006 housing: Burton, Evans, Wallis, Principles, Miss Selfridge, Warehouse and Dorothy Perkins.  Stylo Baratt (t/a Shutopia) and Costa opened new units in Summer 2006. HSBC, The Body Shop and Pets at Home opened in late 2007.  Marks & Spencer have up-sized on the scheme into a new 15,000 sq ft (1,393 sqm) unit which also opened in late 2007.  The new units are currently being constructed adjacent to the main Marks & Spencer of circa 10,000 sq ft each, one of which is pre-let to New Look.
