  • Our shares are fully listed on the London Stock Exchange (BLND) and we have ADRs which are traded in the US on the over the counter market
  • The Group became a real estate investment trust (REIT) in 2007. Under UK law, UK REITs have special tax status which allows investors to invest in listed UK property companies as if they owned the assets directly themselves, without being tax disadvantaged
  • Our objective is to be the premier UK commercial real estate company and deliver sustainable returns to our shareholders through a balance of capital growth and dividend distribution
  • Our portfolio is focused primarily on high quality destination retail locations in-town and out-of-town and central London offices. The portfolio includes directly owned properties as well as properties held through joint ventures and investment funds.
  • As at 31 December 2011, British Land's total properties owned or under management were valued at £15.7 billion, of which its share was £10.3 billion. 61% of the portfolio is invested in retail and 34% in offices. Over 97% of the assets are located in the UK with the balance in Continental Europe, principally Spain, Portugal and France.
